The Short Version

GovTrove is a search tool for federal contract opportunities. We pull public data from SAM.gov and make it easier to find what you're looking for. We are not the government, and we don't submit bids for you.

  • Our data comes from SAM.gov. Always verify details there before making business decisions.
  • Your saved searches and notes are yours. The contract data itself is public government information.
  • Don't scrape, bot, or resell. Use the service like a normal person.
  • We provide the service "as is" — we work hard to keep things accurate and running, but we can't guarantee perfection.
  • If something goes wrong, email us first. Formal disputes go through arbitration in Budapest (Hungarian law applies).

Full Legal Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of GovTrove ("Service"), operated by András Hinkel as a Hungarian egyéni vállalkozó (sole proprietor), registered in Hungary ("we," "us," "our").

By creating an account or using GovTrove, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What GovTrove Does

GovTrove is a search and discovery tool for federal government contract opportunities. We aggregate publicly available contract opportunity data from SAM.gov (the U.S. government's System for Award Management) and present it through a more usable interface with enhanced search capabilities, saved searches, and email alerts.

GovTrove is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Government, the General Services Administration (GSA), SAM.gov, or any federal agency. We are an independent, privately operated service.

2. What GovTrove Does Not Do

GovTrove does not provide legal, financial, procurement, or business advice. We do not guarantee that using GovTrove will result in winning government contracts. We do not submit bids, proposals, or registrations on your behalf.

3. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

All contract opportunity data displayed on GovTrove is sourced from SAM.gov. We do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of this data. Data may be delayed, incomplete, or contain errors originating from SAM.gov or introduced during processing.

You must always verify opportunity details directly on SAM.gov before making any business decisions, submitting proposals, or relying on information displayed on GovTrove. We are not responsible for any loss, missed opportunity, or adverse outcome resulting from reliance on data displayed through our Service.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use GovTrove. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

5. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate and current information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.

You must notify us promptly at privacy@govtrove.com if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

6. Subscription Plans and Payment

6.1 Plans

GovTrove offers a free tier and a paid tier ("Pro"). The features available under each tier are described on our pricing page. We reserve the right to modify the features included in each tier with reasonable notice.

6.2 Billing

Pro subscriptions are available on a monthly ($30/month) or annual ($79/year) billing cycle. All prices are in U.S. dollars. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details — they are handled entirely by Stripe.

6.3 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged the then-current subscription price at each renewal.

6.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain Pro access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial months on monthly plans. For annual plans, you may request a prorated refund within 30 days of your most recent annual payment.

6.5 Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to process it again over a grace period of up to 7 days. If payment cannot be collected after the grace period, your account will be downgraded to the free tier.

6.6 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice sent to the email address associated with your account. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle following the notice period.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Property

GovTrove's platform, interface, design, code, branding, and any proprietary search algorithms or features are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the Service as intended.

8.2 Your Data

You retain ownership of any data you create within GovTrove, such as saved searches, notes, and account information. We do not claim ownership of your data. We use your data solely to provide and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8.3 Government Data

The underlying contract opportunity data displayed on GovTrove is publicly available U.S. government information sourced from SAM.gov. We do not claim ownership of this data.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, business opportunities, data, or goodwill, regardless of whether we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

These limitations apply whether the claim is based on contract, tort, strict liability, or any other legal theory.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any defects will be corrected. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any data provided through the Service.

11. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may terminate by canceling your subscription and ceasing to use the Service. We may terminate or suspend your access for violation of these Terms, for legal or regulatory reasons, or if we discontinue the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. We will retain your data for a reasonable period to allow you to export it, after which it will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Informal Resolution

Before initiating any formal dispute resolution, you agree to first contact us at privacy@govtrove.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

12.2 Binding Arbitration

If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BKIK) Arbitration Court, in accordance with its then-current rules. The arbitration shall take place in Budapest, Hungary, and shall be conducted in English. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.

12.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes with us on an individual basis only. You waive any right to participate in a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding against us.

12.4 Exceptions

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for matters relating to intellectual property rights or unauthorized access to the Service.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hungary, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. For matters not subject to arbitration, the courts of Budapest, Hungary, shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by sending an email to the address associated with your account at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, it shall be severed. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements or understandings.
